5 Essentials to Organizing Your Bedroom

5 essentials to organizing your bedroom custom graphic

The bedroom is usually the last area to fix in the house. But what most people do not know, it should be the first. The bedroom is used for relaxation, but it's impossible to get a night of quality sleep if you are surrounded by clutter. A disorganized bedroom is the enemy of restful sleep.  Your bedroom is the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night, so it's just right to make it as enticing and welcoming as possible.

It's easy to get your room messy, but it's hard to maintain it organised and tidy. You may not like it, but organising your bedroom will make you feel so much better. If you don’t know where to start, this article will help you put things into shape. Below are the five essentials that will help you in organizing your bedroom.

Bedside Storage

A nightstand that is a small table can surely add beauty in a bedroom, but it can be a waste as far as the organisation is concerned. A table style nightstand is suitable for guest rooms. For your own bedroom, choose a model with drawers.  Nightstands with lots of drawers are good at hiding away clutters. You can keep all your knickknacks such as tissues, hand cream, books, lip balm, etc. into the drawers. There are also nightstand designs that have a combination of drawers on top and open shelving below. This type of bedside storage works really well.

End of Bed Storage Trunk

If you have enough space in your bedroom, then get a storage foot at the end of your bed. This can be a perfect spot for your extra linens, out of season clothing, shoes, and other bits and pieces that may be lying around your floor. It can also be additional seating.  There is a wide range of designs to choose from for this product. You can either choose to have a wood design or the one that is upholstered in a linen fabric with a cushioned top for more comfort. Just be careful, though, that you don't make the top of the trunk another magnet for your clutter.

Laundry Hamper with Lid

Have a laundry hamper in your room where you can put all your dirty clothes at the end of the day. A model with lid is an excellent option to block smell in case your dirty clothes stink and avoid germs and bacteria from spreading.  There are also hampers that contain two compartments to separate light from dark clothing. You can also put removable bags for easy transport to your washing machine.

If you just put your dirty clothes all over your bedroom floor, the bacteria has an opportunity to thrive that will result in its growth which is not good in term of hygiene. By having laundry hampers, it will ensure that you'll stop the growth of germs, and at the same time, you can enjoy order in your bedroom.

Closet Organizers

Even if your bedroom is gleaming, if your closet is out of control, it can still disturb the serenity of your bedroom. The first thing you can do is sorting out your closet. Get rid of the shoes and clothes that you no longer need along with other items that don't belong in the bedroom.

Invest in budget-friendly closet organizers such as S-shape hangers for pants, towels, and scarves. You can also put in shelf racks to give your accessories a home. Shelf racks can also be used for your bags and sweaters.  There are also space-saving storage boxes for your shoes that you can squeeze into your closet. Lastly, arrange your clothing according to your needs or based on your preference. You can organise them by season or group them by type.

The more you work on maintaining your closet, the less time it will take. Maybe you can do a quick makeover on your wardrobe at least once in two months and then deal with a full organisation at least twice a year.

Trash Bin

You need a spot where you can throw your tissues, paper scraps, and other bits and pieces of trash that you carry in your bedroom. Do not choose a big bin; it won't work. Instead, find a small but attractive garbage pail to keep in your bedroom. Just don't throw food in there, or your room will have a bad smell.

It’s hard to keep a bedroom organized; you just need a little creativity to keep it tidy. Besides, it’s hard to sleep when you are worried about all your laundry in the corner and seeing your room full of clutter. Tripping over your junk on the floor when you wake up in the morning is also possible if you don’t keep your room organised. Keeping your room clean and organised will make you create a serene space you need to recharge after a long day.

Putting efforts in keeping the room clean and neat is essential. Aside from organising, make sure you give your room a regular cleaning too. It doesn't matter if you can't do the cleaning because you can always hire a professional cleaner that will get the job done to the highest standard. Your bedroom is where you relax and unwind to relieve some stress from your busy schedule. For your sleeping and relaxation to be comfortable, give your bedroom some tender loving care by keeping it organized, spotless and clutter-free.
