For basic carpet cleaning needs and light stains, a homemade cleaning solution consisting of mild detergent and water will help make your moisture-resistant carpet appear cleaner. Be sure to first vacuum the carpet thoroughly, and avoid soaking the fibres with your homemade cleaning solution. You can also try out our DIY carpet cleaning hacks. For best results, however, we recommend using a professional carpet cleaning machine.

Can the steam cleaning method remove stubborn stains?

Yes, carpet steam cleaning is intended to deep clean carpet piles and is very effective in removing tough stains; however, in some cases, the stain will require pre-treatment or repeated spot-cleaning to remove successfully. These special stain removal methods are carefully carried out by our carpet care professionals.

What types of carpets and rugs can you clean?

We clean all types of carpets and rugs made from various types of material including wool, polyester, cotton, seagrass, coil, nylon, and jute. Rest assured that each carpet clean is customised as per the type of carpet fibres and their specific cleaning requirements. Some rugs that are delicate will need to be professionally cleaned off-site, we will give you a heads up about this before the service begins.

How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?

To maintain the overall quality and appearance of your carpets, we recommend professional cleaning at least once in 6 months. In a household with pets and kids, it is advisable to professionally deep clean and sterilise your carpets regularly to keep germs and pathogens at bay.

What happens when you don't clean your carpet?

Neglected carpets are prone to wear and tear while their appearance becomes dull, dirty, and stained. More importantly, they harbour germs which can trigger allergies, cause skin issues, and lead to sickness, particularly for those with compromised immunity.

I'm moving out, do I need to clean my carpets to get my bond back?

In NSW, it’s not imperative that you professionally steam clean your carpets to get your rental bond back, unless it’s mentioned in your lease agreement. However, if your carpets are in a heavily soiled state due to foot traffic or if you have pets, it’s a good idea to steam clean the carpets to ensure you get your full bond back.

Will you move furniture to clean underneath

No, unfortunately, due to occupational health and safety protocols, we are unable to move any heavy furniture to clean under. We highly recommend that this is done before our arrival if you’d like your entire carpet steam cleaned.

Will all stains from my carpet be removed?

Unfortunately, this depends on the current condition of the carpet, the fibre type, how old the stain is, and what caused it. A MaidForYou carpet technician will inform you well in advance if our team is unable to successfully treat the stain.

How do I pay?

We accept card payments. This is done by placing a pre-authorised hold on your card prior to the service; a charge will be made only after the job is complete and our team is ready to leave.

How long will it take for my carpets to dry?

It depends on a range of factors, including the type of carpet, the length of the pile, the level of humidity on that particular day, and other weather-based factors. As a general rule, you can expect your carpet to be 80% – 90% dry within 4-6 hours, and fully dry between 12-24 hours.
